 Point-of-care ultrasound is increasingly used by clinicians to help guide management of acutely ill or injured patients, but it is challenging for busy clinicians to learn practical ultrasound skills.  The purpose of this course is to simplify ultrasound training, so that novices can begin using some of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound immediately.

Topics covered in the Basic Point-of-Care Ultrasound course and lab sessions include:

    • Basic cardiac: Learn standard views, Identify pericardial effusion, recognize gross cardiac dysfunction
    • Learn EFAST exam for trauma
    • Basic abdominal: AAA and free fluid
    • Basic US-guided vascular access
    • Basic Ob/Gyn
